League Mission

Administer, develop and promote participation in adult basketball within the local community and the state, through a safe and positive playing experience at a competitive level. 

HOOD RIVER BASKETBALL LEAGUE🏀

The Adult Basketball League will be managed by Hood River Valley Parks + Recreation District.

LEAGUE OVERVIEW

Three divisions are offered:

  • Men’s Open (18+ yrs)

  • Women’s Open (18+ yrs)

  • Men’s 35+ (35 yrd and older)

Season length: 7-8 game season beginning the week of September 9th

Playing format: 5 on 5 basketball

Playoffs format: Single game elimination tournament

Game days:

Tuesdays- Men’s Division / Wednesdays - Women’s Division

Hood River County School District gyms

ROSTERS + ELIGIBILITY

  • Rosters must include 8 to 15 eligible players.

  • Players must be 17 years of age or older and finished with high school.

  • All players must be added to the team roster. Players who are not on a team's roster are considered ineligible.

  • Players can ONLY be registered on one Parks + Recreation District Adult Basketball team per division

IMPORTANT DATES

Team Registration opens: Monday, June 3rd at 5 PM

Normal Team Registration closes: Monday, August 19th (11:59 PM)

⚠️ Late Registration begins: Tuesday, August 20th ($100 late fee)

Team Managers Meetings:

Team Rosters are also due at the Teams Manager meeting

  • Men’s Open: Tues, Sept 3rd / 5:30 pm / Location: Hood River Aquatic Center

  • Womens Open: Wed, Sept 4th / 5:30 pm / Location: Hood River Aquatic Center

First practices: Week of September 9th

First games: Week of September 16th

Playoff games: Week of November 4th

TEAM REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

  • Normal Team Registration: $ 650 per team

  • ⚠️ Late Registration begins: Tues, Aug 20th ($100 late fee)

  • League fees cover direct costs that include referees, game balls, rulebooks, scorebooks, awards and supervisors.

Register Your Team - Follow these Steps:

  1. Team Managers download and complete this form: Submit Team Roster

  2. Team Managers collect fees from players

Pay Your Team Registration Fee - 2 Options:

  1. OPTION 1: Pay on-line with a credit card/debit card $ 650 until Aug 19th, 11:59 PM ($100 late fee starting Aug 20th)

    • Register my Men's Open League Basketball Team CLOSED

    • Register my Women’s Open League Basketball Team CLOSED

    • Register my Men’s 35+ League Basketball Team NO LEAGUE (NOT ENOUGHT TEAMS)

  2. OPTION 2: Pay in-person with check, cash or credit card $ 750 until Aug 19th, 5:00 PM ($100 late fee starting Aug 20th)

    • Location: Hood River Aquatic Center, 1601 May Street, Hood River, OR

    • Monday - Thursday 10 am - 4 pm

TEAM MANAGERS  

  • Represent/participate the team in league meetings (in-person or virtual), 

  • Respond and attend to league communication (email, text, phone calls), 

  • Communicate to team members about practice/game schedules, 

  • Maintain records for the team (scores, wins-losses, etc.) and

  • Communicate team concerns to Parks and Recreation staff

FREE AGENTS

Free Agent Registration is CLOSED

  • If you don’t have a team, you can still sign up!

  • Free Agents will be placed onto a team together

  • Players will need to elect a Team Manager to represent them at team meetings/vote on league rules/other decisions as needed.
