2025 YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE🏀
This program is managed by Hood River Valley Parks + Recreation District
Who can sign up: Kinder - 6th grade students / All levels
About the program: Introductory experience where young basketball players learn the basic skills, offensive and defensive principles, and teamwork skills.
Volunteer Coaches are needed to coach these teams! Please consider signing up.
K-2 LITLLE BALLERS OVERVIEW
Players will be placed into co-ed (boys and girls mixed) age-appropriate groups led by one adult volunteer coach; basic dribbling, shooting and passing skills will be taught through fun games. Sessions will end with kids playing 3-on-3 and 4-on-4 basketball. This program practices once a week over five weeks. There will also be 3 Saturday game dates
Practice Dates/Times: Wednesdays, Jan. 15th - Feb. 12th
Kinders: 5:30-6:15 pm
1st-2nd Graders: 6:30 - 7:15 pm
Game dates/Times: Sat., Feb. 1st, 8th, and 15th /Time: 9 am start times
Locations: Hood River County School District gyms

If you would like to see that your child is placed on a team with classmates/friends, please complete the form below
Player placement request guidelines:
1. Players need to be in the same division (There are two divisions: Kinders and 1st-2nd)
2. Players should be from the same school
3. Parents should be in agreement about this arrangement

3rd-6th GRADE LEAGUE OVERVIEW
Teams compete in the “Gorge Youth Basketball League” which includes teams from Skamania County, White Salmon, Trout Lake, Hood River and Goldendale. There will be separate boys’ and girls’ divisions and teams will practice 1-2 times per week. Each team will play 6-7 games on Saturdays.
Team Formation:
3-4th grade players will be placed on teams from school of attendance (i.e. each elementary school will have their own team)
5-6th grade players will be placed on teams from the same region (i.e Mid Valley and Parkdale 5th graders will play on the same team as WyEast Middle School 6th graders)
Player Observations: We plan to hold player observations to help create as balanced of teams as possible. Here is the schedule:
