Hood River Valley Parks & Recreation District Councils & Committees
Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District is accepting applications for volunteers to serve on two important groups: the HRVPRD Advisory Council & the HRVPRD Oversight Committee.
District residents ages 15+ are welcome to apply to either group.
Both groups are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District mission.
We will be accepting applications through July 31, 2026, and will contact you regarding your interest and next steps in the selection process. Applicants may apply for either or both groups; different expertise and experience are needed for each.
HRVPRD Oversight Committee: In partnership with the District Board of Directors, the Oversight Committee will monitor spending of the voter-approved public bond funds to ensure transparency, accountability, and legal compliance.
In addition to looking for people with a broad range of perspectives and experience, we are looking for people to serve this committee who have experience with:
Finance & Public Administration (nonprofit or government)
Business Operations (for-profit, entrepreneurship)
Commercial Construction projects
Public Communication
HRVPRD Advisory Council: This group serves in an advisory role, periodically providing feedback to the District Board and staff on key issues related to parks, trails, facilities, recreational services, and funding.
The Council supports the District’s mission by ensuring that a broad range of voices and perspectives are reflected in the District’s decision-making processes. In particular, the Advisory Council provides thoughtful, community-informed guidance to the Hood River Valley Parks & Recreation District (HRVPRD) Board of Directors.
