WINTER YOUTH SNOWSHOEING

Hood River Valley Parks + Recreation District and Trails Diverged have partnered to bring you this program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Who Should Sign-up 6th-12th Graders

What to Expect

We will meet at HR Parks and Rec approved location to carpool together to our snowshoe site. At the site, we go over winter safety precautions, distribute gear and teach participants how to use the shoes and poles effectively. Depending on weather conditions and overall group dynamics, we anticipate a 2-4 mile snowshoe with frequent breaks for snacks and other participant needs.  We offer complimentary hot beverages either during a break while snowshoeing or after completion, depending on weather conditions. At each location, participants will learn site specific history and natural interpretation of the area, as well as the principles of Leave No Trace and winter safety
