Free lifeguard class ($250 value) AND paid training if you commit to joining our team for 3 months.

Feb 25th: 4:30pm - 7:30pm

Feb 26th: 10am - 5pm

Feb 27th: 10am - 5pm

Feb 28th: 4:30pm - 7:30pm

This will be a blended learning course that has approximately 7 hours of online work that needs to be completed before the in person, in water portion of the class

Prerequisites:

1.Must be at least 15 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of the course

2. Must be able to swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim freestyle or breast stroke (no swimming on back side)

3. Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes only using legs

4.Complete timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

Certification Requirements:

Attend all class sessions, successfully perform all required skills, successfully complete three final skill scenarios; and pass the written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent or better on each section.

Please, come prepared to complete all physical pre-requisites on the first day. We suggest practicing the skills prior to the start of the class.
