Active Rx 2024

We are happy to announce that Hood River Parks + Rec has received grant funding through Columbia Gorge Health Council for the Active Rx Program for 2023. These funds will ensure that all people have access to the pool and the learn to swim program.

If you receive any type of social service benefit (like, but not limited to SNAP, WIC, Foster Care Providers, Oregon Health Plan, Free and Reduced Lunch Program, Senior Services), then you are eligible to participate in the Active Rx Program and swim or take swim lessons for free.

Each person who qualifies will be able to receive two of the following services (and it can be a combination):

  • Monthly Pass (expires after one month and perfect if you plan to come more than twice per week)

  • Swim Lessons

  • Summer Family Pass (Good from last day of school through Labor Day. We are allowing families to sign up for this pass starting May 1st. Limited quantities)

How do I get started?

Stop by the front desk and ask to participate. If you have a family of five and qualify, each person in your family is eligible to receive two of these services. Can’t wait to see you soon!
