A first class Skate Park and BMX Track
In 1996, working in cooperation with the City, the Hood River Rotary, other civic groups, and strong volunteer groups, the District opened the first phase of a skate park at the City’s Jaymar Park , which is now called the Rotary Skate Park. Volunteers remain key as we continue to evolve the Skate Park to a permanent, low maintenance facility. The skate park has expanded to include a BMX track, permanent restrooms, and playground area.
To date, the Park District has made over 600,000 dollars in improvements to the skate park. A large portion of the funding came from grants, including Oregon’s Local Government Grants/ Lottery Dollars.
