Masters Swimming Program

It’s Never Too Late To Start Swimming!

The Columbia Gorge Masters was founded in 2002 as an organized swimming program for adults. The purpose of the organization is to promote good health, fitness, and friendships though regular swimming. The group is affiliated with Oregon Masters Swimming (OMS) and United States Masters Swimming (USMS).

We welcome swimmers of all ages from 18 to 100+ regardless of previous organized workout swimming experience. Some members have been involved in youth swimming organizations, and others have learned to swim as adults. Abilities range from novice swimmers just learning some of the competitive strokes to those who have achieved USMS National Top Ten. Interests range from workout swimmers to competitors who race in pool meets, open-water swims, and triathlons.

The Columbia Gorge Masters swim team has coached workouts Monday through Friday from 6-7:30 am and Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:45-6:45pm. Costs include a coaching fee, a pass to the Aquatic Center, and membership to USMS, which is required. Coaching is free for 70+ swimmers. USMS membership is $54 for the year (ages 25-69) and $44 (ages 18-24 & 70+), and includes subscriptions to Aquamaster (an OMS publication with 10 issues per year) and SWIM Magazine (6 issues per year).
