The aquatic center is scheduled for a power outage / maintenance from 11pm Wednesday July 5th through 7am Thursday July 6th. Morning Masters workout Thursday is cancelled. The pool will be open for it’s scheduled time at 8am. Pools may start slightly colder than usual.
There will be a special work session on Opsis Architecture’s report and recommendation of the pool enclosure study on Thursday, June 29, from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Hood River Fire Station Conference Room.

Our Summer Swim Lesson Registration begins at 12:00 pm on Monday, April 24th. You can enroll online or stop by. All sessions and classes, both morning and evening will be available. First come first serve.

Monday through Friday 11am – 2pm. Wednesdays and Fridays will be at the Waterfront Park (weather dependent). Pick-up and drop off will be across from Solstice, by the climbing wall in Waterfront Park.
The class is March 27th – 31st. 9am-2pm every day with a 30 minute lunch break.
Participants must be at all classes and sessions.
It’s $200 for the course. This must be paid prior to enrollment. There is a pretest Monday morning to determine if you have the water skills necessary to complete the course. If you do not pass the pre-test, you will be refunded the $200.
You can pay online, over the phone, or at the pool.
The pre-test includes:
300 meter swim of front crawl and some breast stroke
2 minutes treading water, no hands
25m brick retrieval: jump in, swim to the dive brick, bring it to the surface, and swim it back above the water with both hands.

April is Adult Learn-to-swim month! April 10, 12, 17, 19, and 24 from 6:45-7:15 or 7:30-8:00pm. The classes are entirely free! Taught by volunteer US Master Swimmers and HR Aquatic Center Teaching staff, this is a great opportunity for all skill sets!
- Level 1 = Beginner swimmer, who has had little to no experience in the water, and who might have fear of the water.
- Level 2= Beginner swimmer, who has had little experience in the water, but who is not afraid of the water. This person may be able to doggy paddle, swim a foot or two, may e able to float a little bit.
- Level 3=Swimmer who can swim some distance, but doesn’t necessarily feel comfortable in deep water, swimming for longer distances, and would like to work on breathing.
- Level 4= Swimmer who has mastered basic swimming skills but who would like to work on stroke technique and learning new strokes.
We will be having open swims from 1-5pm Monday through Sunday the week of Spring Break. March 27 through April 2nd. Dollar Swims Friday night from 6:30-8pm and Sunday from 1-5pm.
